Complete Rotors

Rotor cup & bearing — supplied for semi-automatic open-end machines as a complete assembly; rotor, cup and bearing as one balanced unit. Cups are also available on their own, to re-cup a bearing that is still serviceable. Bearings run from 70,000 rpm to 110,000 rpm.

SolidRotor — a single-piece rotor for Autocoro 8–11 automatic rotor-spinning machines, with high concentricity, lower noise and lower power draw. Both lines use European nickel-diamond & diamond coating (D/DD, optional smooth N top layer) for a low, consistent CV across the full lifecycle.

Coating — what the D and N suffixes mean

The coating is the last part of the rotor type: T 34 DD is a T-groove 34 mm rotor with DD coating.

D
Nickel-diamond coating for extended lifetime.
DD
A second diamond layer, the longest-lasting option.
N
Smooth nickel top layer for sensitive fibres. On its own, steel rotors only.
DN
D coating plus the smooth nickel top layer.
DDN
DD coating plus the smooth nickel top layer.

Rotor cup & bearing — types & service life

Semi-automated OE machines (Schlafhorst/Oerlikon/Saurer BD-series, Rieter BT9xx/R3x, Taitan, Rifa). Supplied as one balanced unit: rotor, cup and bearing.

Cups can also be supplied separately. Where the bearing is still serviceable, the cup alone can be replaced instead of the complete unit.

Expected service life > 35,000 h (DD coating).
Warranty: 12 months / 8,000 h. Sandy or bleached cotton, man-made fibres with titanium oxide and viscose can reduce service life.

Rule of thumb for rotor groove type:

  • Knitting → G-type rotor
  • Weaving → T-type rotor
  • Coarser yarn counts → Tc / U-type rotor

These are the commonly used belts; any other size is available on request. The three Lock rows dimension the joint piece, so they carry A and B only.
